Match Preview

Arsenal travel to the Etihad to face Manchester City for the first time this season. Arteta will be looking to make it two in a row against Guardiola after their FA Cup semi-final victory. Arteta’s managerial record against Guardiola currently stands at 1–1 after a 3–0 defeat in December last year and the aforementioned FA Cup victory.

Arsenal will be looking for two wins in a row after defeating Sheffield United 2–1 before the international break. However, history is against the Gunners as they have lost their previous 5 matches at the Etihad.

They will be looking to continue their strong start to the season and make their overall record 4 wins and 1 loss. They will also be looking to stay in the top 4.

Manchester City will be looking for their second win of the season after their last match was a surprising 1–1 draw with the newly-promoted Leeds United.

A win for Man City will come along way in helping them get their season back on track after a slow start which includes a 5–2 belting in the hands of Leicester City.

Both teams will be looking to get all three points and will hold nothing back on the pitch.

History suggests that Man City have the advantage with their superior attack and the fact that Arsenal is not the best team defensively. However, the current form of each team cannot be dismissed, and as it stands, Arsenal is playing better so far this season.

If Man City can find a way to get through Arsenal’s fragile defence, then they have a chance. If Arsenal can keep up their form, then they have the better.
